It would have been her 2nd birthday today. I'd be getting ready to take her to my parents, worried that the cake would not turn out right, or that her older brother, Owen would be horribly jealous and cause some sort of scene. In the end, she will have opened her gifts, spread the angel food cake everywhere, but in her mouth (giggling with glee, of course); and it would be a splendid day.
It is, instead, a very lonely day. Today I can only imagine my daughter's 2nd birthday. Today I can only remember the sound of her infant giggles, and the radiance of her smile. Today is a day like any other. I wake, drink my coffee, maybe shop a little and smoke too many ciggs. Unlike every other day (but very much like most), she will be in my every waking thought. And i can only try and be happy for the time she gave me, rather than shed another tear of the time we've lost.

I'd appreciate any help you'd be willing to give, I'm quite creative, but i just need some guidance in bringing my ideas to life. (I mostly work in Photoshop CS3), but other mixed media as well.
